FAQ
Tattoo removal is performed by using light energy from a laser directed at the ink particles trapped in the dermis of your skin. The laser will break the ink into smaller particles and your body's immune system will naturally dispose of the ink over the weeks to come.
Frequently asked questions
How many treatments will I need?
Every tattoo is different and therefore the number of treatments will vary. Colored tattoos will generally take more sessions than black and grey tattoos. Homemade tattoos will be able to be removed in fewer sessions than professional tattoos. Other factors such as how deep the ink is in the skin, your bodys overall health and how well you care for your tattoo after each treatment will all determine how many sessions are needed.
Does it hurt?
Just like getting a tattoo, there is some discomfort with the removal process as well. We can minimize discomfort with our Zimmer Cryo 6 that will blow -30 Celcius air on the to be treated area. Numbing options are available as well. Treatments usually last only a few seconds to a minute depending on the size of the tattoo. A tattoo the size of an iPhone may take 10-30 seconds to treat.
Are there side effects to my treatment?
You may experience some temporary side effects after you treatment. Redness, tenderness, and swelling may occur but will subside within a few days. We provide you with clear instructions to properly care for your tattoo after the treatment. We are also always availble for phone or in-house consultations throughout your treatment process.
How long do I have to wait between treatments?
It is recommended that treatments are spread 6 weeks apart to allow your skin to fully heal.
Why choose the PiQo4 over last generations lasers?
Our picosecond technology has extremelly short pulsarations which offers the safest possible treatment for your skin compared to the older Nano technology. The PiQo4 uses photoacoustic (no heat) pulsations unlike the thermal pulsations of Nano lasers. Treatment times are also much faster and require fewer sessions. The PiQo4 produces the largest amount of energy with four wavelength settings to remove all colors of ink on the spectrum. Older lasers leave some colors irremovable.
